Ronit Khaling Rai’s new video “Sambandha”

Ronit Khaling Rai has released new music video which is dedicated to human best friend that is dogs. Its an new attempt for his music as he wants to share a bonding between human and dogs.

The music and lyrics has been done by Visan Yonjan where as music arrangement has been done by Dev Lama. Mixing and mastering for the audio is done by Kishor Thapa. The music video has presented us in a unique form of people from different corner of the world has shared their footages of bonding with their pets. The music video is directed and edited by s2s(Shreshan) from his company Inline Creation Records. Visan Yonjan and Sarojan Tuladhar has shot the video.

Ronit says, “Its not just about the video and bonding with dogs but I want to help as much I can with even with small amount for the animal organization who helps and treats street dogs. With my and team vision hope we can help them as much as we can from our side.” We wish Ronit all the very best for this projects and the work he is working on right now.

Sati is the ancient tradition where the widow, mistresses and female servants used to take their own lives by jumping into the funeral pyre of a deceased man. A group of musicians accompanied the funeral procession and played loud music to subdue the screams of the burning women. This horrible tradition got rooted in Nepal until it’s abolition by Shree 3 Chandra Shamsher on Asar 25 1977 B. S. Written evidence for wife either to converge (give life) or to be in Satibrata after the demise of her husband can be seen in Hindu theologies’ texts. That is why, that tradition was prevalent in Nepali society since ancient times. According to the records, at the demise of the father of Mandev, Dharmadev, his wife Queen Satyavati had wanted to go Sati. But Mandev refused. As a result, she lived her whole life in religious work. On this basis it becomes clear that there was Sati system in the Lichchhavi period. But it was not compulsory.

We can find the mentions of all the women who had gone Sati on the inscription by Yakshya Malla on 1533 BS. Also, an inscription of his wife Queen Kirtilakxmi on 1544 BS mentions about her denying and being in Satibrata. On the death of Mahendra Malla on 1631 AD, Jagat Prakash Malla on 1729 BS, Nripendra Malla on 1737 BS, Yog Narendra Malla on 1762 BS, history says that many women went for Sati. 24 females went to Sati on the death of Parthibendra Malla. But Queen Riddi Lakxmi, who was involved in the mother of her husband did not go and lived for several years. Shree Teen Janga Bahadur Rana was against the Sati system. So, he brought Muluki Ain with rules dissuading this system. Widow below 16 years and women having children less than 9 years old were restricted from sacrificing. But, during his death on 1933 BS, women along with Shree Teen BadaMaharani Hiranya Garva Devi went Sati. Later, in 1977 Asar 25, Chandra Shamser abolished the system legally. In this way, this wretched system got abolished.

“Shristy” to drop soon on digital platforms

Shreshan Shrestha also known as s2s, is working on his 4th Ep Album “Shristy”. There will be total of 4 songs including in the album. His first track “Bardaan” from his album has already been released along with music video which is dedicated to his 2 year old son. And second track Mann Ka Kura also has been released. Two more song are yet to be release. The album is produced by New Age Music. And video production is handled from his founding company Inline Creation Records.

Besides album he is busy with his other projects and has been directing music videos.

4th Ep Album “Shristy” will hopefully released by early 2022 on all digital platforms.

First ever recorded song from Nepal

Seturam Shrestha (Devanagari: सेतुराम श्रेष्ठ) (1891-1941) was a Nepalese musician, singer and composer. He was an important figure in the development of modern music in Nepal at the beginning of the 20th century, and has been hailed as an Ustad. In addition to songs of love, Seturam sang songs with messages of social reform. In 1908, he became the first Nepalese artist to record a song on gramophone disc. Among the songs he recorded in a studio in Kolkata, India was the iconic Rajamati. Janak Lal Shrestha, proprietor of Bhadrakali House, the main record store in Kathmandu then, sponsored the recording session. Seturam has also been credited with pioneering ghazal music in Nepal. Ghazal is a poetic form with origins in ancient Arabic verse that expresses the beauty of love. Seturam was born in Asan Kamalachhi, Kathmandu to father Krishna Dhar and mother Hari Devi Shrestha.
